The Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading was first presented in 2001. It is an annual award to recognise outstanding ITE and polytechnic graduates who have performed well academically and attained good co-curricular activity records, and to encourage them to continue the journey of life-long learning. This year, 25 students received the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading – 15 of whom are ITE graduates pursuing full-time studies at the polytechnics and 10 are polytechnic graduates pursuing full-time undergraduate studies at local universities.
